(1) City Palace:

The City Palace was constructed by Maharana Udai Mirza Singh around 400 years ago. It is located at one of the banks of the Pichola Lake. The architecture of this palace is a marvelous blend of European, Chinese and Medieval styles. The design of the palace is a lavish one with courtyards, hallways, hanging gardens and courtyards.

(2) Ahar Cenotaphs:

The cenotaphs are the replica tombs commemorating the persons who had been cremated somewhere else. In Ahar, there are 19 cenotaphs of the Mewar Maharanas. There is a museum nearby that contains precious exhibits like a rare piece of earthen pottery and a metal figurine of Lord Buddha from approximately 10th century.

(3) Badi Lake:

The Badi Lake was built by Maharana Raj Singh to save the Badi village from a famine situation. The total area of this lake is around 155 sq. km and is adorned by three chhatris. No commercial activity is allowed in the Badi lake and the tranquillity of the lake is awe-inspiring.

(4) Jag Mandir:

The Jag Mandir Palace is built on an island above Pichola Lake. It’s a site of architectural splendor. The palace is three-storeyed. The Gul Mahal served as the shelter for Prince Khurram. There is a façade guarded by 4 carved elephants on both sides of the entry point through jetty on the lake. Another interesting structure is a palace made of 12 stones, namely, Bara Patharon Ka Mahal.

(5) Jagdish Temple:

The deity worshipped in the Jagdish Temple is Jagannath Rai or Jagdish Ji. The construction of the temple was completed around the year 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh. There are three hand-sculpted shikharas on top of the temple walls with one shikhara reaching the height of approximately 79 ft. The intricate carvings in the temple are an awesome example of the Maru-Gurjara style of architecture.

(6) Pichola Lake:

In the year 1362 AD, a Banjara tribesman constructed this artificial freshwater lake. Later, Maharana Udai Singh, attracted by the beauty of the lake and the natural setting around it built Udaipur around the Pichola Lake. The Pichola Lake is one of the lakes here that don’t have any fixed boundary, flows and continues as another lake around Udaipur.

(7) Saheliyon Ki Bari:

The royal house of the name ‘Saheliyon Ki Bari’ was constructed by Maharana Sangram Singh for the queens and other royal ladies. The structure of this house is marvelous with decorated chhatris, lotus pools, elephant sculptures, and fountains. On entering the place, you can feel a warm vibe around you. There’s a museum containing royal exhibits.

(8) Shilpgram:

Approximately 3 Kms from Udaipur, Shilpgram is a hub of rural art and crafts. The artisans come here to display their handicrafts, work together and raise awareness about the rare sometimes extinct forms of art and craftwork of the local regions.
